Step-by-step installation photos:

Mail Time installs in just a few minutes using basic tools. Clear photo instructions are shown below and included with every order.

Step 1:  Slide tabs under top latch and slide backwards until snug.

Step 3:  Tighten nut on bolt

Step 4:  Close flag inside mailbox door. After initial installation, the tab should be gently adjusted once for a good fit. It is not designed to be bent back & forth regularly, which can cause the tab to break.

Step 5:  Ready for mail delivery

Mail Time is designed for traditional "bread-loaf" style mailboxes where the door closes over the face of the box. It is not designed to fit mailboxes where the door sits flush inside the mailbox, or magnetic door closures. Please see images of several mailbox styles that will not work.

I had an assembly, (may have been an older version) very similar to this product, installed on one of the mailbox types that the current instructions said wouldn't be compatible with this version. I simply added some double backed tape to the metal frame, drilled a hole in the metal tab on the flag, taped the assembly to the side of my mailbox, tied a piece of nylon boot lace in the drilled hole long enough so that it extends into the door of the mailbox so the door closes on the string and it looks and works exactly like the faded and damaged original it replaced.

Fun with your mailbox flag

This works great as advertised. I even printed a welcome note with a smiley face and taped it to the underside of the flag (with wide, weatherproof clear tape) so my mailman, Derran, would get a little chuckle out of the personalized message.

Simple design, works great! It did not fit with my mailbox latch, my mistake, but was easy to modify with drilling 2 holes and riviting it on. I'll be telling others about the convenience of having this product.

My older one which I had to replace had two holes for the screws. The new one only had one, so I had to drill another hole to keep it secure on my mailbox.

We've had one of these on the mailbox at our ranch for as long as I can remember. When it finally broke after almost 30 years, I scoured the internet for a replacement. We found several on Amazon that really did not do the job, and ended up cobbling together the old one instead. When it broke again I finally realized there was some lettering on the inside of it with the name, and found this! So convenient to have it back and be able to tell if the mail is here without going out to the mailbox!

It was a little hard to get it installed on my mailbox. I didn't have a top latch but I was able to use sheet metal screws and install it. It either needs to be changed to install on any mailbox or provide instructions for use with sheet metal screws. The loacal Lowe's doesn't sell mailboxes with top latches.
